Figure Eight Island is the premier home destination on the Southeastern Coast of North Carolina. A private island, only accessible by bridge, Figure Eight Island is located a few miles north of Wilmington and near Porters Neck County Club. Development began in the early 1970s and the island is approximately 1300 acres with 440+ home sites. The island has permanent residents, but is popular as a second home and vacation location, too, often as a haven for celebrities and politicians.
